Last week as you know, I switched from Foobar to Foobar Lite. I coulda sworn at the time that I heard a sound difference, but I chalked it up to my overactive imagination.
Today I went to mess with the equalizer and found out it wasn’t there - it was one of the things that got axed from the Lite version. Thankfully a visit to foobar2000.org to pick up the DSP pack solved that problem. (Incidentally, I also picked up the dynamic compressor and it works like a dream.)
My quandry is this. The Equalizer DSP must do something to the sound even if it’s flat. Cuz the sound is much beefier with the EQ DSP installed than without it - even if it’s flat.
Odd.
