JetsGo have written their death warrant. Matt wrote about some problems a friend of his had on a flight to Calgary, and now the morons have gone out and bought 18 new aircraft.

To supplement their already duct tape ridden fleet of ancient MD-83’s that they have bought 18 Fokker 100’s from American. I thought they’d hit the bottom of the barrel when they bought the MD-83’s, but apparently my definition of the bottom of the barrel and theirs clashes somewhat.
Air Canada just dumped their few remaining Fokkers a couple of years ago citing maintenance and operating costs. These things are not reliable in the best of conditions, and running in a discount airline in a predominantly cold climate will not help any.
Granted, American probably took good care of them, but STILL. Ya think when an airline offers to sell you eighteen planes that maybe they’re putting the stick to you?
