I can’t believe those idiots at the US Government are killing the Comanche. Arguably I’m a helicopter freak, and the Comanche is probably one of the slickest looking helicopters made in a long time, but… I still can’t believe they’re canning the project. This ranks right up there with the Avro Arrow getting canned.
But, as usual, I have the solution. The Reuters article says that the Army currently has two Comanches, and another five were on the production line when the project was canned.
Swell. That makes seven potentially complete Comanches.
You know where I’m going with this.
GIVE ‘EM TO CANADA!! WE COULD USE HELICOPTERS THAT FLY WITHOUT CRASHING!! Granted, they can’t take the role of the Sea King or the Labrador, but… we’ll take ‘em anyway!! Considering the pathetic state of our air defense fleet… I realize a few helicopters are not much in the scope of the US Army but… SEVEN Commanches added to the Canadian Forces fleet?
This could be the goodwill gesture that restores Canadian faith in the United States. Sell ‘em to us cheap!!! We’ll find a use for them!!! I can hear the boys in Trenton just beside themselves thinking about flying something the likes of a Commanche.
Are you listening George? I hope so. But I doubt it.
