This kinda stuff gets me excited. I’ve always said that the reason we face the majority of our problems in Canada is because we bend over and take it. Whether it’s from the phone company, the gas company or some level of government.
Enter Terry Blake. Mr. Blake, a 71-year old retired gas station owner and Kinsmen president decided to make a statement about the absolutely ridiculous gas prices we’ve been experiencing lately.
Hell, today I saw two old ladies at the Petro-Canada here in town yelling at each other because one cut into the line in front of the other. They were squabbling over 85 cent gas. Neither of them wanted to be left in line when the price went back up. 85 cent gas. Can you imagine two years ago getting into a fight over 85 cent gas?
I don’t recommend risking a criminal charge like Mr. Blake did… but it’s about time somebody stood up. It’s nice to see for a change.
