At first I thought it was a joke, then I realized it wasn’t.
Go to www.gmail.com and take a look at the login page. See the rolling counter? Weird huh? The weirdest part is that the number on the login page matches the “space used” display once you login. They really are ramping the disk quotas up slowly.
For those who haven’t been following the ball game so far, Google started out offering one gigabyte of storage in it’s free e-mail service. Then when the competition responded, they said “Ah hell, we’ll offer two!” Now it seems like they’re on the move again, it will be interesting to see when or if the counter stops.
As far as I can tell Google has not made any announcement about this and I’ve seen no reports of it elsewhere. This may be a scoop! ![]()
