I got an e-mail from Apple today.
They wanted to thank me for my business in the iTunes music store. I thought that was nice.
They wanted to offer me a $40 discount on my next purchase — which I thought was pretty sweet considering I’ve only spent $40 on them so far.
The catch is it’s $40 off on a purchase of $400 or more. What the hell am I going to buy from Apple for more than $400? I’d have to buy two iPods, or the 60 gig video iPod (that isn’t available yet), or an iPod and a boatload of accessories. Sure I could buy a computer, but who wants $40 off a computer?
Nice meaningless gesture, Apple. Really nice.
