Generally I have to say I’ve been really pleased with the government lately. The Federal Tories have been spending money where money desperately needs to be spent, and even Dalton McGuinty has not done anything overly crazy in a while. For a Liberal… that’s quite an accomplishment.
But sometimes… I wonder what they put in water at Queens Park and Parliament Hill.
Apparently Queens Park has created new legislation that will make alcohol-related boating infractions affect your driving record. C’mon you idiots. This is about the most outrageous case of apples and oranges I’ve ever heard. Yes, alcohol on the water is a serious problem. But people do things in boats they would never do in cars, and let’s face it, the traffic on Lake Scugog is nowhere even comparable to the 401 or the 407 or any of the other 400 series highways. Until you require a driver’s license to operate a boat in Ontario this new law is just a joke.
