Because I’m going away for two weeks starting this weekend (I put that in bold so you’d notice it if you didn’t notice the other day) I went out and bought the AC “charger” for my iPod Nano today. I thought I was going to buy one of those cheap generic chargers, but it turns out that the store that carried them no longer carries them. Something about Apple not honouring warranties of people who used third-party charging systems. Oh well. I thought I was going to get a dock of some sort, but it turned out to be a simple wall wart with a USB receptacle in the back of it. So I take my USB cable with me, and plug it into the wall wart. Pretty simple.
The disturbing thing is that the box the charger came in was easily 5x the size of the Nano box.
Heh… I recently bought a new cellphone. It was inside a box, that was inside another box, that was inside another box. o_O
It’s like when you go buy a (physicallly) tiny memory card and it’s in a package that’s like 2ft x 1ft, of THIN PLASTIC.
I mean, I understand why they do it, but still!

it’s just like the packaging that comes with all childrens toys; the wires to remove are more complex than the wires that make the toy work!
Silly!
