Everything I Need To Know I Learned From My Cat

Quote Of The Moment

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.

I have a Nokia 2125i on a prepaid cellular carrier. People mock me for going prepaid all the time but it’s not 10% as bad as it was when prepaid phones started, I really don’t use the phone THAT much - except for texting, and I kind of enjoy not getting a bill at the end of the month. I love my handset to death - it’s the best phone I’ve ever had - but the battery has been a bit of a pain. It still works. But the battery consumption is not NEARLY as good as when I got it. Maybe psychologically that’s the excuse I’m using for wanting a new phone.

I dropped by the kiosk in the mall today where I got my phone. The clerk asked if she could help me and I explained I already had one of their phones and was basically just looking at their selection of accessories to see what was new. I further elaborated on the battery problem, and she told me that Virgin intends to release two new phones next week to bring their total of new handsets this year to three. They already released the LG 3300 which replaces the cheap Audiovox flip they had. And next week they will begin offering Samsung a640’s and RAZR’s. I’m not interested in the RAZR at all, but the a640 is tempting, depending on what price they offer it at. I’ve always said I don’t “need” a camera phone, but… it would still be cool to have. And the phone overall just LOOKS a lot cooler. And it does Bluetooth. And it’s a flip. I already talked to Virgin on the phone today and they said it’s no problem to flip my number from the 2125i to a new phone.

Time will tell. I’ve had this phone less than a year. I’ll feel guilty. Momentarily.
