The Liberal leadership convention was SUCH a show-stopper that two and a half weeks later (i.e. until today) I hadn’t even realized that it had taken place.
Thank God Almighty… Bob Rae did not win.
It seems an unknown has won the position of party leader. Being the good Conservative that I am, I blew by his blog and graced him with a friendly greeting in his comments.

The only reason you WON the Liberal Leadership race is because the Liberals are so devoid of ethics that YOUR face is the only one that HASN’T been tarnished yet, and therefore is viable for use in an election.
I haven’t forgotten Chretien. And I’m not going to forget him this week, this year, or perhaps even this decade. And I suspect I’m not the only one.
You can make all the pontifications and mud-slinging you want, in fact I’m pretty sure the Liberal party has an entire department that specializes in this. But as a Canadian in the prime of my life, I am excited about government for the FIRST TIME in my life with Stephen Harper at the helm. You resort to mud-slinging because the Liberal party has nothing positive on which to place emphasis.
Millions of us have been living in oppression under your party’s whack-job socialism intermittently over the course of the last three decades.
We’re the ones who are going to vote the Conservatives to the next majority government.
I hope whoever filters these comments enjoys reading it, because I know you lack the moral fibre to publish an opposing viewpoint.
I’m sure it will be gone in less than a day.
