Maybe I should leave the entertainment business to the entertainment blogs, but I have a couple of comments about tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy.
First of all, if they make Lexie and Meredith anymore alike, I’m going to vomit. That sister bonding thing in the hallway with the story about digging up the dead cat was just disgusting, and I don’t mean the part about actually digging up the cat. I thought they were bringing this character onto the show for diversity and tension. I didn’t think they were bringing her onto the show so we could have two “dark and twisty” types.
George is making me sick with every passing moment. Yes, he had a nice speech about wishing he could have given his father his heart, but this thing with Izzie just makes me want to curl myself into a ball and stab myself. And what of this marital counselling outside from Miranda? Two weeks ago Bailey was telling Callie she wanted to help. Now she’s telling her husband that it takes two to tango. I’m confoozed.
While I’m bitching, do we really need to bring Sydney Herron back into the picture? She is the most annoying character Shonda Rhimes has ever created. The cast is populous enough with Norman, Ava, and all of Yang’s numbered interns. Bringing this ditz back into the plot is only going to add confusion.
And lastly. What is it with TV medical dramas? Do they have a separate actor’s union or something? I’ve counted at least three ex-Chicago Hope actors in recent days. Hector Elizondo (Dr. Phillip Waters on CH) of course was Callie’s father. I remember Jayne Brook (Dr. Grad) being on the show a season or two ago. And tonight of course we saw Rocky Carroll (Dr. Wilkes) as the guy who cut his leg off with a chainsaw. All we need is for Mandy Patinkin and Adam Arkin to show up, and now that I think of it, I think Adam Arkin has! I’m pretty sure Vondie Curtis-Hall has been on Grey’s in a guest star role as well.
