Sunday was a busy day for me, with a lot of yelling, on top of the fact that we had one of the worst storms in recent memory.
As a result, I ended up with a fast-moving cold on Monday (that is almost gone) and today I had what I call see-saw laryngitis. One minute my voice is fine, but if I talked long enough, you could hear it fading little by little, and then it would come back.
Not wanting to add more drug expenses to an already expensive Christmas, I sought out help on the vast all-knowing internet. Eeek.
Most of the “home remedy experts” agreed that gargling vinegar would provide relief. Most agreed that diluting it 1:1 with water provided “adequate” results, but that you should just take it straight if you could handle it. I couldn’t find any white vinegar around the house (like the picture), but found some malt vinegar in the fridge and figured “What the hell.”
So I did it. It worked well.
But at the same time, I won’t ever do it again. Ever.
