Another Heavenly Piece Of Software

I hate the Windows Logo key. It never fails that I’m inside a game or some other “full screen” application and I whack it by accident when I mean to hit the Alt or the Control key. Solutions exist, but most of them are commercial.
I found a lovely little program called SharpKeys. Although it requires the .NET 2.0 framework (yuck) it’s really a nice piece of software. It will take any key and allow you to remap it as any other key. So in my case, I re-mapped both Windows Logo keys to the shift key. It writes the changes to a registry key - making it permanent so the software doesn’t have to stay resident. To remove the changes, you run the software again and it modifies the key.
Very very nice.

FWIW, you can uninstall SharpKeys and the .NET Framework once you have the keyboard configured how you like it - the app (and the Framework) are only required if you want to make more changes to the layout
