The Chief Coffee Drinker’s Two Minutes Of Fame On 640 Toronto!

I had what - in talk radio - was an extremely long call-in today to offer my opinions on the cancellation of the 2004-2005 hockey season. I had the foresight to record the call-in and you can listen to it here. Sorry it’s in WMA format, but it’s the only way I can make it small enough for transmission without blowing my bandwidth to hell. I’m actually surprised it sounds so good.

The “45 minutes ago” reference I made in the early part of the call was to Ken Klee’s interview which preceeded my call. He is a defenceman for the Toronto Maple Leafs and they called him to get some comment on the season being cancelled. The babboon couldn’t muster the common courtesy to turn the television down so that we could even hear what he had to say. When asked what he’s going to do now, his laboured response was “Ummm ummm ummmm…. my family really has to come first right now”. In other words, he has nothing. If the NHL dries up - and I don’t think that’s totally out of the question - he may as well learn how to drywall. And $65k a year is gonna be a big pay cut for him.
