Kazaa 3.0 Spyware Free: NOT BLOODY LIKELY

Yes, even some of the “smart” ones get suckered in once in a while.

Kazaa 3.0 promises to be spyware free. Most respectable applications that make this claim are usually on-the-level but Kazaa clearly is not. The 3.0 version has just as many cancerous little minions that will fill your screen with popups as all the previous ones. And if the makers of Kazaa don’t like me saying too — too damn bad.

The Microsoft Anti-Spyware product does a decent job of removing Kazaa’s payload, but it misses a few things. I have found a lovely little program (scroll to the bottom of the page) that is specifically designed to remove Kazaa’s spyware payload completely from a system it has been installed on.

Sharman Networks has done a fine job of proving that they are unworthy of the public trust. I hope the RIAA eats those idiots alive.
