Somehow I let Whipper’s birthday slip. The feline systems adminstrator of poweredbycoffee.net turned seven last week. She’s a “senior” cat now. Just don’t tell her that. Pouncing is still a part of an active lifestyle for this tabby.

Since the day I got her seven years ago, I have tried to encourage her and teach her to be “a snuggler”. She has the frame for it. She has the sinfully soft coat for it. She has the thermal mass for it. But it’s just not something she’s ever taken a liking to. She will sit “close” to you - and loves to do so - but will not sit “with” you.

It’s 5:13am, and I’m up because I’m sick. I have a fever, I feel like crap, and I tossed and turned like a blender all night for the second night.

And for the second night in a row… guess who slept under my arm and purred all night? Coincidence? I think not.

And so having tallied all the votes, I am pleased to award the prestigious Feline Of The Year award to Miss Whipper for the seventh consecutive year.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some serious belly rubbing and treat distribution to tend to.
